England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
