I can't bank on three full seasons at Man Utd - Ruben Amorim

the United manager

United's manager - pictured getting support after May's Europa League final defeat - notes he is satisfied by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's long-term backing but underscored that what lies ahead is unknown in soccer.

United's manager the Portuguese coach feels it's significant the co-owner publicly shared his extended perspective - but states nothing is guaranteed about the future in the sport, much less three full years.

Through a conversation with a major publication last week, Ratcliffe mentioned it may need the manager three years to make a significant impact at United's home ground.

Emerging in an era when the coach's tenure has been facing examination following an extended sequence of disappointing results, the statements assisted in calming some of the immediate pressure.

Yet, discussing prior to the centenary clash with traditional foes the Merseyside club at their home ground, the manager underscored that tomorrow is difficult to forecast in the beautiful game.

"It's truly positive to listen to that but he communicates to me continuously, occasionally through communication following matches - but recognize, I'm aware and the co-owner recognizes, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.

"The vital factor is the upcoming match. Despite having backers, you cannot control tomorrow in soccer."

CEO Omar Berrada has conceded it has required much more time for the head coach to adjust to the English top flight subsequent to his appointment from his former club during the winter than any person expected.

Manchester United have achieved 10 successes in 34 Premier League matches during Amorim's tenure. They haven't managed back-to-back league wins and didn't complete a matchday during this campaign above ninth position.

The worrying figures are challenging confidence in the head coach among the Red Devils supporters entering a sequence of matches their club has been awful in for the previous two campaigns.

United's boss commented he isn't experiencing the doubt internally at the club's Carrington training ground and is adamant nothing compares to the expectation he places on his players - and in some senses, he would rather Sir Jim to avoid attempting to bring a sense of calm because he is concerned about the impact it could have on the squad.

"It's not only a thing that people talk about, I sense it every day," he said. "It's really good to hear it because it helps our fans to comprehend the management understand it will require a period.

"Yet concurrently, I'm not fond of it because it gives a feeling that we possess time to resolve issues. I don't desire that feeling in our organization.

"The expectation I apply to the team or on myself is so much bigger [versus outside influences]. In the sport, particularly at major teams, you have to show yourself each weekend."
