England Manager Tuchel Insists No Problem with Jude Bellingham, Foden, or Jack Grealish
England's Head Coach Thomas Tuchel has declared that he has "no issue" with Jack Grealish following the trio did not make the England squad for upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia.
Bellingham did not earn a recall despite recovering from a shoulder injury, while the Manchester City and Everton players also miss out despite showing improved form with their respective clubs.
The German manager mentioned that the 22-year-old wanted to be included of the selection, having spoken with him on the phone.
"Bellingham is a unique talent, and for exceptional talents there can always be special rules," Tuchel remarked regarding Bellingham, who has made just one start since coming back to fitness.
"However we opted to maintain the simple decision of calling up the identical squad.
"Bellingham always deserves to be here. There is also the situation that he has not fully regained his full rhythm yet at his club - he has not finished a full match.
"The player wanted to be called up. We had a phone call."
The England boss made an effort to highlight his good rapport with the midfielder after he said sorry to him earlier this year for calling his on-pitch behavior as "disgusting" in a live interview.
Tuchel explained that he uttered those terms "without meaning to" and would be more careful in future.
When asked if he had a problem with the player, Tuchel said: "None. There is also no problem with Foden or Grealish.
"Phil is returning to influencing and shaping games for Manchester City. Jack is almost to returning to the best version of himself.
"There is no personal problem."
Bukayo Saka taking the place of the injured Madueke is the only change to the previous squad, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jarell Quansah retaining their places after joining as last-minute call-ups previously due to injury.
The Three Lions play Wales in a non-competitive match at Wembley on Thursday before a World Cup qualifier in Riga on October 14.
Should England triumph in the away fixture, they will require a maximum of two points from their remaining two matches - against Albania and Serbia in next month - to earn a place in the upcoming tournament in North America.
Strong Performance By Tuchel
England produced their finest performance by some distance under the manager's guidance when they beat Serbia 5-0 away in Belgrade in their previous match.
Tuchel stated that showing meant it an easy decision to keep mostly the same squad, though "there exist absolutely no guarantees" for every squad member regarding selection.
"The last camp was just three and a half weeks ago and the cohesion and morale was on the highest level. That is why we chose to call up the identical players to this session," he said.
"Phil is in a excellent run of form. Wharton deserves to be with us. Jones and Trevoh Chalobah are earning playing time with their clubs.
"We have players who deserve to be here. Palmer is injured and is a key talent. It will consistently remain the case.
"Is our team a better team with Jude? Yes. But I told you before, what do we do if he is injured before the tournament? Do we simply give up?"
Tuchel's Press Conference Gets Noticed
The England manager once more gave a headline-grabbing news conference.
He, a master of managing his interactions with the press, began with an opening statement to set out his reasoning for his decisions.
Bellingham is fit and available and expressed interest to come to camp, but the coach has said he preferred not to change the team too much after a impressive 5-0 victory over Serbia - where the boss said team spirit was at an all-time high.
But with Tuchel not including Bellingham, and his frequent comments about team spirit, it is difficult to avoid connect the two - even though Tuchel insisted multiple times how Bellingham is "special" and that there is "no problem" between him and one of the national team's key talents.
The England manager has consistently made it evident that he wanted to make the England squad feel like a club team and, by retaining the identical selection after a big victory, he has done that. But the inquiries will come again in the following session if the team perform strongly in these next two matches.
