Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
