BF6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Overly Demanding
The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers peaked at nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Gamers have begun turning to custom matches created through the custom game tool to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how grueling these challenges have become.
Comprehending BF6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four types of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of acquiring 12 of the 41 key firearms found within the game.
Some of these restricted firearms may soon earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash on Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most egregious examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and only works at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you want to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge
One more community participant pointed out an additional excessively hard challenge, within the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons
This is challenging enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game at present, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and possibly an additional option in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, including AI opponents. This implies you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
However, when completing the missions in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an atypical style that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for completing them in a personal session so allies are not impaired?
Upcoming Tweaks
It won't come as a surprise if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.
For now, the audience continues to express their views on these demanding in-game tasks, expecting a more balanced overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
